Eric has held senior executive roles at Fidelity Investments, Allmerica Financial, Putnam Investments, Mercer, Lincoln Financial Group, and Corebridge Financial, specializing in strategy, product development, business development, operations, and finance.
Eric began his career at Fidelity Investments in the Financial Management Training program before moving to Allmerica Financial, where he served as CFO/COO of Allmerica’s broker/dealer, CFO of its investment adviser and Treasurer of its fund group and played a key role in expanding its manager-of-manager investment platform. At Putnam Investments, he served as a Managing Director and led key strategic initiatives transforming the sub-advisory business from a single relationship to partnerships with eight out of the top ten variable annuity providers growing assets from $500M to over $15B. Eric was also instrumental in developing and managing industry leading joint ventures with Hartford Life and Allstate for top selling variable annuity products and for leading a team focused on launching feeder fund products in the private equity space.
His leadership continued at Mercer, where he served as Worldwide Partner, Retirement Outsourcing Business Leader and Division Head for Mercer Securities with P&L, strategy, business and product development responsibilities for Mercer’s Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit and Wealth Solutions businesses, leading Mercer’s joint venture with Putnam Investments and entry into the mid-market and Taft-Hartley retirement plan markets. At Lincoln Financial Group, where he led product innovation, he oversaw a major system transformation, developed and led Lincoln’s Fixed Investment Only and Book Value Wrap businesses and served as Chairman and President of Lincoln Financial Group Trust Company.
Most recently, as Executive Vice President, Retirement Services at Corebridge Financial, Eric led the Product, Solutions, and Investments teams, focused on designing and delivering retirement solutions and products for 28,000 plan sponsors who serve approximately two million participants with over $125B in AUM and administration. Leading Investments, Eric oversaw the governance, product, and asset management activities of the institutional investment adviser and sponsor of the VALIC Company I mutual funds, a manager-of-managers structure with $35B+ in AUM in 35 funds served by 22 sub-advisors. Eric served in a fiduciary capacity both as an officer of the adviser and as a shareholder-elected fund board member.
