Bjorn brings almost 20 years of national accounts leadership from Goldman Sachs Asset Management and BlackRock, where he served as senior relationship manager covering Merrill Lynch and Edward Jones at Goldman Sachs, and later as channel owner for IBD and RIA platforms at BlackRock, working directly with CIOs and home-office decision makers to drive adoption of vehicles spanning asset classes and investment structures.
At BlackRock, as Co-Head of the Investment Solutions Group for US Wealth Advisory, Bjorn led a 22-person investment due-diligence team overseeing $200B+ in model assets and $400M+ in run-rate revenue. He built and closed partnerships that raised $15B+ in net new flows, expanded the Edward Jones relationship to $90B in AUM ($175M in run-rate revenue), and closed BlackRock’s first Raymond James Freedom Model placements ($550M), including liquid alternatives.
Beyond client relationships, Bjorn architected the Strategic Partnership Framework that institutionalized account planning, CRM analytics, KPIs, and engagement standards across BlackRock’s wealth channels, creating the infrastructure that converted platform access into sustained fundraising momentum. Recognizing the effectiveness of these commercial operating models, BlackRock’s leadership recruited Bjorn to serve as Global Head of People Experience, where he translated proven frameworks enterprise-wide, leading post-pandemic engagement initiatives supporting 20,000+ employees globally.
At Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Bjorn elevated GSAM’s net sales rank at Merrill Lynch from sub-50 to top 5 within three years while preserving $2B+ in at-risk Edward Jones assets during regulatory headwinds. He also secured a Morningstar parent rating upgrade from negative to neutral, positively impacting the ratings of every fund in the firm’s complex.
Now a Partner at Convergency Partners, Bjorn works with PE-backed investment platforms, fintech firms, and asset managers to accelerate institutional adoption through commercial strategy, platform partnership architecture, and revenue orchestration, bridging innovation and enterprise mandate.
Bjorn holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BBA from Howard University. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses.
